Veteran-Owned and Ready to Serve: What SDVOSB Means to Us

At Indy-Pendent Solutions, being a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) isn’t a tagline—it’s a responsibility.

What is an SDVOSB?

The SDVOSB designation exists to give veterans who’ve sacrificed for their country a fair opportunity to compete in the federal marketplace. It allows government agencies to set aside or directly award contracts to businesses owned and controlled by service-disabled veterans. It’s one part economic empowerment, one part trust in the leadership that comes from military service, and one part call to action: step up, serve again, and deliver.

We take that seriously.

Why It Matters to Us

Our founder is a retired Air Force officer with a background in combat aviation, acquisition, and defense program management. After being medically retired due to service-connected conditions, he wasn’t looking for sympathy—he was looking for purpose. Starting IPS was a way to keep serving, to create opportunity, and to lead by example.

“I didn’t want to build something flashy. I wanted to build something solid—something that reflects the values I carried in uniform: show up, do the work, own the result,” he says.

That mindset is woven into everything we do, from federal consulting work to hands-on facility support for defense partners.

Bringing Veteran Values to Every Job

At IPS, we don’t hide behind our SDVOSB status—we back it up with capability. We run our business with the same principles that defined our military careers:

  • Accountability – We take ownership, every time.

  • Service – We show up to serve, not just to sell.

  • Trust – We keep our word and earn our clients’ confidence.

  • Competence – We only commit to what we can deliver—and then we deliver it well.

  • Adaptability – Whether the mission is technical, operational, or logistical, we adjust, align, and execute.

These aren’t buzzwords. They’re how we operate—whether supporting a government prime, managing a workspace that supports defense operations, or helping a fellow veteran navigate the federal contracting landscape.

Let’s Partner

We’re actively looking to build relationships—with federal agencies, with prime contractors, and with others in the SDVOSB and small business community who believe in doing the job right. Whether you’re looking for a reliable subcontractor, a technical program management partner, or a trusted voice in the room, Indy-Pendent Solutions is ready.

We don’t just wear the veteran label—we live it.
